Spring Clean Up will be completed this week. While the original timeline was set from June 3 to 13, residents are being advised that the clean up has fallen slightly behind schedule, and the city is anticipating completion of waste pick up by Friday, June 14.

Note that waiving of tipping fees at the Deloro Landfill will not be extended.

Brush chipping operations may continue into next week and residents are being reminded that if brush is left behind, it is not necessary to report, as this operation does not run simultaneously with the waste collection.

However, if residents have received a notice to remove waste piles, this needs to be completed immediately in order to avoid steps being taken to enforce applicable municipal by-laws.

This year, while the selected contractor was unable to work with the timeline of June 3 to 13, the city deployed its own staff to complete the clean up, knowing how important it is to its residents.

The hard work and dedication of City of Timmins crews during this year’s Spring Clean Up deserves the heartiest appreciation. We are extremely proud of our workforce, who ensured delivery of this valuable service to our residents.

“City staff and equipment were deployed in order to offer this service, taking priority over other work that was not immediately required for safety reasons,” explained CAO Dave Landers. “We are so incredibly proud of how our crews pulled together with our existing resources to ensure this service was offered to our community in such a professional and timely manner. Credit truly goes out to all the crews directly or indirectly involved.”

All questions and concerns regarding city services should be reported through Service Timmins:
