Most of the local hospital's masking mandates are reduced.
Starting today (Monday, April 17), masking is no longer required in non-clinical areas such as the main lobbies, waiting areas, cafeteria and elevators.
"Masks are required at all times in clinical areas and signage will be posted at the entrances to these units with information about the masking requirements," reads the hospital's announcement.
"The Timmins and District Hospital continues to support individuals who choose to wear a mask for their entire visit. Hospital-issued masks will be available at all hospital entrances and the entrances to clinical areas."
