The Body Shop in the Timmins Square is closing.
The beauty brand company announced today that it has started restructuring and filed a notice of intention to make a proposal under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (NOI).
The Body Shop has 105 stores in Canada and 33 are being closed, with liquidation sales starting immediately. There is no official date for when the Timmins store will close its doors, but the company says it will be in the "near term". Online sales have already stopped.
The NOI process, according to a company news release, is to allow for "breathing room" while strategic alternatives are considered.
The Body Shop US Limited also stopped operating today (March 1).
