The Timmins Coin Club, and the Timmins Stamp Club, are proud to jointly host their sixth annual show. The show will take place on Sunday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. downstairs in the Lions Den at the McIntyre Community Centre, 85 McIntyre Rd., Schumacher.

This will be a wonderful opportunity for Timmins and area residents to experience and learn about stamp and coin collecting. Members of both clubs will be displaying stamps and coins.

The show will also include coin and stamp dealers for those wishing to purchase items to add to their collections. A silent auction will run throughout the show.

“The Timmins Coin Club has been active for 54 years and part of the Timmins cultural community since 1965. We are pleased our annual show continues to attract collectors and dealers from North-eastern Ontario. The club has grown significantly over the last ten years with members from Kapuskasing to Ottawa,” says Kevin Montgomery, president, Timmins Coin Club.

“This is a significant opportunity to gather collectors and the public together to showcase coin collecting within the region,” added Montgomery.

“Organized stamp collecting in the Timmins-Porcupine area dates back to 1946. Stamp collecting is a relaxing and educational hobby for all ages. It allows you to explore your favourite topic or interest and travel to different countries. Youth stamp packs will be handed out to all children visiting the show in order to kick start the next generation of philatelists,” adds David Yaschyshyn, vice president, Timmins Stamp Club.

We’re looking to build on our success of previous years and anticipate a good turnout.
