MOOSONEE - A person accused of threatening someone with a knife in Moosonee was found to be breaking multiple probation orders.
On Jan. 26 around 4 a.m., James Bay OPP responded to a 911 call on Hutchison Road in Moosonee.
Police allege the suspect had threatened a victim with a knife and uttered threats. When officers tried to arrest the suspect, they refused to provide identification. After fingerprinting them, police discovered the accused was bound by multiple active probation orders.
A 27-year-old Toronto resident is charged with:
- Assault with a weapon
- Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Obstruct a peace officer
- 4 counts of fail to comply with a probation order
The accused remains in police custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Moosonee on March 5.
None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
