KIRKLAND LAKE - A teen is facing charges in an incident that saw a poppy box stolen and thrown into the garbage.
On Nov. 19 around 4 p.m., the Kirkland Lake Legion Branch 87 called OPP about a poppy box and the donations in it being stolen from a Government Road business in the community.
The legion told TimminsToday last month that the suspect was caught on video. The cash donations in the container were stolen and the poppies were thrown in a trash bin.

OPP said today that a 19-year-old from Kirkland Lake has been charged with theft under $5,000 and fail to comply with a probation order.
The accused is slated to appear in court on Jan. 9.
None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
