Timmins man accused of damaging cell door at police station

Police arrested two on outstanding warrants on Sunday

The Timmins Police Service arrested a local resident on the strength of an arrest warrant which was executed in the downtown core area of Timmins during the afternoon hours of Sunday, Oct. 18.

While completing general patrol of an assigned zone, a suspicious person was observed lurking in a back alley off of Pine Street by a Timmins Police Service officer. The subject was located and interviewed by the Timmins Police Service officer. Further investigation revealed that the subject was a wanted person named in a current arrest warrant held by the Timmins Police. Once the validity of the warrant was confirmed, the subject was arrested by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result, Lyle McEvoy, 39, of Timmins was arrested on the strength of the warrant. He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at provincial court in Timmins to answer to charges stemming from a previous incident resulting in the arrest warrant being issued for his arrest.

Additionally, the Timmins Police Service arrested a second local resident, later that same day, on the strength of an arrest warrant which was executed in the downtown core area of Timmins.

While completing general patrol of an assigned zone, a Timmins Police Service officer recognized a male subject as being a wanted person named in a current Arrest Warrant held by the Timmins Police Service. Once the validity of the warrant was confirmed, the subject was arrested by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result, Randall Nakogee, 34, of Timmins was arrested on the strength of the warrant. While in custody, the subject managed to damage a cell door at the Timmins Police station.

He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the original charges resulting in the arrest warrant being issued for his arrest as well as an additional count of: mischief under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
