TIMMINS - Police are investigating an industrial workplace fatality in the west end of Timmins.
It's in the area of Malette Lumber Road and Highway 101 West, said Timmins Police in a news release this afternoon.
The Ministry of Labour says the incident involved a Creative Recycling worker, who was hit by equipment and fatally injured.
"The ministry extends its sincere condolences to the family and colleagues of the worker. A ministry inspector has been assigned to investigate. As the investigation is ongoing, we are unable to provide further information at this time," said the Ministry of Labour in an email.
Creative Recycling is an automotive wrecking yard in Timmins.
No further information was provided by police. They said updates will be shared when available.
This is the second death investigation in the city this week.
Police are also investigating a homicide after 57-year-old Paula Mallette was found in a residence in the area of Algonquin Boulevard and Preston Street.
