FORT ALBANY - An estimated $50,000 of suspected methamphetamine pills were seized by police at the airport in a remote community.
The late morning of Nov. 15, Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS) were called to the Fort Albany First Nation after community bylaw officers suspected a woman had drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
A 40-year-old Fort Albany woman, who was not named by police, was arrested, and police seized an estimated $50,000 worth of suspected methamphetamine pills.
The accused is charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking. She's been released from police custody and will appear in court at a later date.
None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
