A North Bay man, convicted of a 1998 stabbing murder in Sudbury now has been charged with sexual assault and confinement by NBPS.
North Bay Police Service Criminal Investigators laid charges on Robert Steven Wright, currently in custody in Kingston, for the stabbing death of Renée Sweeney, who was killed in her workplace.

Wright is now charged with:
- Two counts of sexual assault
- Criminal harassment
- Forcible confinement
The new charges come after criminal investigators from the North Bay Police Service received information from the Greater Sudbury Police Service in regards to a historical sexual assault that had occurred in North Bay between 2015 and 2016.
Wright is currently serving a life sentence in Kingston. He was informed of the new charges and remains in custody.
