Highway 144 is closed in both directions between the Watershed and Timmins,
South Porcupine OPP says the closure between Highway 560 and Highway 101 is due to the deteriorating weather conditions. The closure started around 11 a.m.
Other road closures are:
- Highway 11 is closed from Iroquois Falls to Kapuskasing, it started just after 3:30 p.m.
- Highway 655 is closed from Driftwood to Timmins, it started around 3 p.m.
- Highway 129 from Thessalon to Chapleau, which closed around 9 a.m.
- Highway 101 from Wawa to Timmins closed around 12:15 p.m.
- Highway 17 is closed from Wawa to Batchewana Bay
Motorists who drive on a closed roadway face a fine of $110 and three demerit points upon conviction.
Poor weather conditions have also closed Highway 129 from Thessalon to Chapleau.
